I've never heard of that happening on VRBO. Here are a few things for you
to look at which may help. I live in This is the summit county

right, then type in "mc " (that's mc space), and you can find my name

internet access, wireless internet access
is free; get the code from the staff at the front desk of my building.
There is no guarantee on the internet access, but if you do have a
problem, please contact the front desk staff. If there is an issue, sometimes
the signal in the lobby or game/tv room is stronger; 1 floor down, opposite end
of building. As a backup, you can get free wireless internet access at the Crown
Cafe & Tavern, btw, the only interaction with the front desk should
be for the wireless service, hot tub access code, or parking permits. They
do not manage my unit, so all other inquiries should be directed
towards me (feel free to call me 24 hours
a day, 7 days a week). Only 1 car allowed for my condo in parking lot and
you must get a permit from the front desk to avoid towing (get it the next
morning if you arrive after the front desk is closed). I encourage you to use your cell phone in the condo,
as hotel rates apply to all calls made from the condo. Please let me know
